Aloitimme päivän aikaisin eli heräsimme 8.30. Juha viritteli itselleen taas pekonia, kananmunia sekä paahtoleipää. Kahvin teki Patricia, mikä oli hienoa sillä lopputulos oli cappuccino. Krista aamianen sisälsi varmasti hedelmiä. Runsaan aamiaisen jälkeen lähdimme kaupungille ostoksille. Matkalla kaupungille ajanhetkellä 49 tuntia näimme ensimmäisen kerran kengurun. Valitettavasti näimme sen vain hetken ja hyvin kaukaa.
Kaupungilla kävimme läpi useamman ostoskeskuksen pääasiassa katsellen ja ihmetellen tämän maan tarjontaa. Kauppakeskukset näyttävät samalta kuin meillä ja sisältävät samaa kuin meillä, joten niistä ei tullut edes kuvia otettua.
Meitä on viimeiset kaksi päivää peloteltu informaatiolla erilaisista myrkyllisistä olennoista. Ilmeisestikin meri ja meren ranta on täynnä ikäviä elukoita jotko joko tappavat sinut tai tappavat sinut, mutta paikalliset tietävät voiko veteen mennä edes etäisen turvallisesti uimaan. Maalla taasen käärmeet ja hämähäkit tappavat sinut, sitten on läjäpäin vihaisia elukoita, ne todennäköisesti tappavat sinut. Olen päätynyt yksinkertaiseen ratkaisuun myrkyllisten eläinten tunnistamisessa: Jos eläin on pörröinen ja söpö se ei todennäköisesti tapa sinua.
Ennen illan ruokailua Krista vei minut maastoon. Menimme suoraan kengurujen leikkikentälle, mutta ehdimme olemaan siellä niin vähän aikaa että emme havainneet yhtään kengurua. Harmillista. Suunnittelen ottavani kuvan kengurusta niin läheltä että sen sieraimen sisustakin näkyy…
Loppuilta menikin nauttien kotona tehtyä lammasta, hyvää juttuseuraa ja vanhaa viiniä.
We began the day early, meaning we woke at 8.30. Juha cooked up some bacon, eggs and toast. Coffee was made by Patricia which was nice since it ended up being a cappuccino. This time I’m sure that Kritas breakfast included fruits. After a healthy breakfast we headed out for some shopping. On our way to the city at 49 hours we saw a kangaroo the first time. Unfortunately we saw it only a brief moment and from a very far away.
In the city we through several malls mainly looking and wondering all things this country has got to offer. Since the malls look the same as we have and had a lot of the same in them we didn’t even take pictures.
Last couple of days we have being frighten with information about different poisonous creatures. Apparently the sea and the sea shore are full of nasty creatures that either kill you or kill you. Luckily the locals will know if you can go to the water to risk your life. Then again on the land snakes and spiders will kill you and there are a bunch of different angry creatures which will likely get you killed. I’m come up with a simple solution to distinguish these two: If the animal is cute and cuddly it most likely won’t kill you.
Before the evenings dinner Krista took me to the forest. We went directly to the kangaroos back yard but we were only few minutes in there and during that time we didn’t see any. Such a shame. I’m planning to take a picture so close to the kangaroo that you can see the inside of it’s nostril.
The rest of the evening went by while we ate home made lam, had a nice chat and drank some old wine.
