Patricia otti tiistain vapaaksi, jotta hän voi viettää päivän kanssamme. Rauhallisen aamun jälkeen menimme kansallisgalleriaan käymään. Galleria oli muuttunut sisällöltään melkoisesti siitä kun Krista kävi siellä viimeksi, mikä tuli suurena järkytyksenä meille ;).
Gallerian jälkeen meidän piti mennä Red Hillin kukkulan ravintolaan, mutta kun pääsimme mäen päälle saimme lukea ravintolan ovesta että se oli suljettu. Se siitä lounaasta mäen päällä. Pysähdyimme kuitenkin hetkeksi kuvaamaan maisemia. Päätimme lounastaa alhaalla ja matkalla lounaspaikkaan ajella läpi lähetystöalueen.
Canberrassa sijaitsevat lähetystöt ovat isoja ja (osa) kauniita komplekseja. Joukosta erottui komiasti jenkit koollaan, israililaiset linnoituksellaan sekä kiinalaiset näyttävyydellään. Kävimme svedujen pihalla vetämässä runtua kun olivat jättäneet porttinsa auki 😀
Lounaan jälkeen kävimme ihmettelemässä keskustan ostoskeskusta, josta kaappasimme mukaan vähän tuliaista ja postikorttia. Lopetimme päivän hyvissä ajoin jotta pystymme suunnittelemaan matkaamme eteenpäin.
Illan suunnittelun hedelmä on suunnitelma A, joka makea kuin suklainen kenguru. Suunnitelma on vasta mallia A ja täysin vahvistamaton. Jos haluat nähdä sen käyppä katsomassa karttaa täältä. Suunnitelma on merkattu keltaisilla palloilla.
Patricia took the Tuesday off so she could spend more time with us. After a peaceful morning we visit the national gallery. Exhibitions in the gallery had changed quite a lot since Krista last visited the place which came as a huge shock to us 😉
After the gallery we were suppose to go to a restaurant on top of the Red Hill, but once we got there we got to read from the door of the restaurant that they were closed. So much for lunch on the top of the hill. We stopped to take a couple of pictures, since we were there. We decided to have our lunch at the city and drive our way there through embassy area.
Embassies located in Canberra are big and (some of them) beautiful building complexes. Some of them stood a part from others, such were the US with its size, Israelis with their fortress and Chinese with their looks. We went and drove around the yard on Swedes embassy since they had left their gate open 😀
After the lunch we had a quick stop in one of malls at the center. We gripped some souvenirs and post cards while we where there. We ended the day early so we could plan rest of our trip.
